I was so moved by the new book by Tanya Katerí Hernandez, Racial Innocence, that I wanted to do my part in amplifying its message. Professor Hernández expertly covers how Latino anti-Black bias plays out in a number of areas through examining U.S. case law. It's an important contribution to the discussion of how those of us in the Latino/Latinx community wrestle with colorism not just in our culture, but in matters of public policy. I highly recommend it. Shout out to The Latinx Project at New York University for bringing this work into my view.
